Artist Statement

“Individuality” is a series of portraits of my family and friends. I believe that by looking at a work of art, a viewer can respond to what the artist felt when creating it. The varied media and surfaces selected play an important part in my response to the sitter. Through my drawings, the individuality of each person is revealed in a rather intimate way, one that invites connection with my portraits on a deeper level beyond mere appearance.
